The People’s Pope

#PeoplesPope
#PeoplesPope

Next week Pope Francis’ visit to the United States will bring our core issues to the forefront. This is a unique moment in America, as the attention of millions will be drawn into conversations about income inequality, immigration, racial justice and climate change when they are highlighted during the papal visit.

The pontiff, often referred to as the “People’s Pope,” is one of the most popular and most watched leaders in the world. According to Twiplomacy, Pope Francis is the most influential world leader on Twitter. He has demonstrated global moral leadership on our critical fights—economic, immigrant, racial and environmental—and he speaks in the context of values that working people hold dear: family, community, inclusion and “people over profit.
