SEIU members endorse in Denver municipal races

This year SEIU Local 105 members worked alongside Denver’s Mayor and City Council Members to put in place a $15/hour minimum wage for City of Denver employees. This was a huge victory for union members and city employees, and it was all fought for at our local level.

As union members, we understand the importance of working locally for economic justice. We know what it’s like to live and work in Denver, just as our city council members do. We value our relationship with the city and county of Denver and look forward to continuing our partnership in fighting to raise wages and keep up with the rising cost of living. Our lawmakers understand that workers across Denver, no matter their employer or position, need the freedom to join together in unions to ensure their wages and benefits match the rising cost of living in our city.

This May, Denver residents will head to the polls to vote in the municipal election. It is important for us to stand with those municipal representatives who are committed to fighting for and with all of us. These candidates show us how they are ready to support worker power through their actions every day. They lift up union members’ voices and are dedicated to making Denver a better place to live for everyone.
