KP Bargaining: End of June Update

Kaiser management is showing their greed once again. KP opened up bargaining last week with a contract proposal that demands major cuts, including:

  • Copay increases to $20;
  • More outsourcing and automation of our jobs;
  • Lower pay, elimination of pensions, less time off — starting with new hires, then we’d be next.

After raising their CEO’s pay by 60% and plunging $900 million into a new Oakland office, just this weekend Kaiser Permanente unveiled a new $300 million marketing project called “Thrive City”, and careworkers were not having any of it.

The message was heard loud and clear, KP has priorities and funds, just not for the workers that make them so profitable. Read and share the article below:

National Agreement bargaining has been broken out into three subgroups. A description of each group and the bargaining team members assigned to each are below:

  • Topics of Discussion: Education & Training, Career Development, Innovation in Care Delivery, Employment Security & Growth of the Union.
  • Bargaining team members: Shelly Fowlkes & Darion Ross

Operational Effectiveness:

  • Topics of Discussion: Staffing, Backfill & Safety
  • Bargaining team members: Maria Fenwick & Bea Griffin

Commitment to Partnership:

  • Topics of Discussion: Training, Outsourcing, Accountability, Transparency & Engagement at All Levels
  • Bargaining team members: Pat Johnson-Gibson, Ron Ruggiero, Becky Torres
