The Laradon Story

Laradon workers

Local 105 welcomes Laradon members!

On November 29 2007, Local 105 grew by 75 members.  Employees in the Children’s Services department at Laradon, a service provider for the developmentally disabled, voted to unionize by a two to one margin in an election overseen by the National Labor Relations Board.  The employees want a seat at the table to improve the services that Laradon provides.  They also seek to improve staffing levels, reduce staff turnover, and increase the number of paid days off.  The Laradon group, which includes teacher assistants, treatment coordinators, and occupational, music, and speech therapists, will select a committee and begin to bargain their first contract in January.  They could use your support, so please contact Kevin if you would be interested in helping them.
