{"id":2161,"date":"2018-06-21T17:39:05","date_gmt":"2018-06-21T17:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.seiu105.org\/?p=2161"},"modified":"2020-02-11T20:37:42","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T20:37:42","slug":"kaiser-enough-is-enough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.seiu105.org\/es\/healthcare\/kaiser\/kaiser-enough-is-enough\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaiser: Enough is enough!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On June 15th, Local 105 members sent a message to Kaiser management that we are standing strong on our demands that they come to the table to bargain with us.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We picketed in front of Kaiser Colorado\u2019s Regional offices for two hours and had great turnout!<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2162 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seiu105.org\/files\/2018\/06\/IP-Alameda-cropped-1024x536.jpg\" alt=\"IP Alameda-cropped\" width=\"535\" height=\"280\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what we want Kaiser to understand:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bargaining is all about setting and protecting standards. We want a good national agreement, not a quick national agreement.<strong>\u00a0A good national agreement would mean increasing wages, protecting our healthcare benefits, and equity for the ROC regions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>We are not interested in signing away our rights and our voice<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 certainly not with a company that supposedly wants a \u201cspeak up\u201d culture. Especially when Kaiser can\u2019t even tell us exactly what rights we would be giving up! This is about our long-term power and signing away our rights means we lose our ability to stand up to Kaiser and hold them accountable for their decisions, especially when they\u2019re not partnering with us.<\/li>\n<li><strong>We need to be able to stand up to Kaiser<\/strong>\u00a0around issues like job security and fight back against the ongoing outsourcing of our jobs, to outside companies and even to new technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2163\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seiu105.org\/files\/2018\/06\/IP-Dakota-close-up-300x252.jpg\" alt=\"IP Dakota close up\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" \/>As a company, Kaiser is more profitable than ever, and our partnership agreement has been in place for 20 years. So why is Kaiser disrespecting over 80,000 union members now?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kaiser can afford to bargain with us and treat us fairly.
