{"id":2361,"date":"2013-05-01T21:51:30","date_gmt":"2013-05-01T21:51:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.seiu105.org\/?p=621"},"modified":"2020-02-11T20:38:23","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T20:38:23","slug":"may-day-rally-and-march-a-huge-success-despite-snow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.seiu105.org\/es\/political\/may-day-rally-and-march-a-huge-success-despite-snow\/","title":{"rendered":"May Day Rally and March a Huge Success Despite Snow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SEIU Local 105 members and staff along with a over a hundred community allies including United Food &amp; Commercial Workers Local 7, the Colorado AFL-CIO, Mi Familia Vota, Denver Area Labor Federation,\u00a0Colorado Progressive Coalition, Jobs with Justice,\u00a0\u00a0FRESC, Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity\u00a0and Reproductive Rights, Bend the Arc\u00a0and many others came together today to support a Path to Citizenship for the over 11 million aspiring Americans.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today, as we\u00a0celebrate International Worker Solidarity Day,\u00a0we\u00a0demand a pathway to citizenship for every aspiring American,&#8221;said Mary Glenn, an SEIU Local 105 member\u00a0who has been working to organize her fellow workers for immigration reform at Denver International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Despite cold, snowy and wet conditions, members and community activists rallied for half an hour in front of the west steps of the State Capitol before marching for over an hour towards &#8220;Citizenship&#8221; park.<\/p>\n<p>The day culminated in a celebration at Citizenship (better known as Sunken Gardens) park that included food and entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>Stated SEIU\u00a0Local 105 member\u00a0Claudia Esquivel,&#8221;It was an inspiring day for all of us. Snow was not going to keep us at home.
