Last week, your actions resulted in\u00a0the most successful healthcare worker informational pickets in years when hundreds picketed in one day!<\/a>\u00a0On Saturday, over ONE HUNDRED<\/strong>\u00a0KP 105 members convened\u00a0to discuss the next steps and create a plan of action after Kaiser’s greed <\/span>caused the end of scheduled bargaining to break down for 85,000 workers–the first time in over 20 years this has happened.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaiser\u00a0has been disrespectful to our members during bargaining<\/b>.\u00a0What else do you call proposing increased copays, more outsourcing, dangerous and divisive two-tier lower wage rates, eliminating the pension\u00a0and cutting retiree medical for new hires, cutting and\u00a0<\/span>NO equity for Colorado<\/strong>\u00a0and areas outside of California on pay raises.<\/p>\n

\"7.15.19_Strike<\/a><\/p>\n

We still don’t have a written comprehensive economic proposal from them. <\/strong>We still haven’t received financial information–by region–that we are legally entitled to and we requested months ago.<\/p>\n

Kaiser is willing to raise CEO pay by 60%, and spend nearly a BILLION dollars on a\u00a0fancy new facility. The question KP members asked each other at the meeting was, “What are we willing to do for our patients, our communities, and for the future of KP healthcare workers?”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The resounding answer from members was\u00a0“STRIKE IF NECESSARY.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHAT\u2019S NEXT? STANDING UNITED AND TAKING THE PLEDGE<\/strong><\/h2>\n

By the end of the meeting, over\u00a0ONE THOUSAND<\/strong> strike pledges were picked up by\u00a0members ready to talk to their coworkers\u00a0about standing united.<\/p>\n

Going on strike is not an easy decision, but a necessary one to show Kaiser that healthcare workers are the reason why they are one of the\u00a0most profitable care providers in the nation.\u00a0It’s time for KP to see our strength.<\/strong><\/p>\n
