HSS Security Guards voted decisively November 1st with over 80% voting in favor of ratifying the union contract.\u201cWe were very united throughout this process.\u201d said Bargaining Committee member Juanita McGill. \u201cThe bargaining team was unanimous in our recommendation to adopt the contract.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new contract takes effect on Saturday, November 2, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The contract, which expires in 2017, includes many victories including a substantial decrease in health insurance costs across the board; wage increases twice annually; additional paid time off and; a seniority based wage scale.\u00a0 Wage increases will be re-opened for discussion in the fall of 2014.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seiu105.org\/es\/files\/2013\/11\/272.jpg\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-887\" alt=\"272\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seiu105.org\/files\/2013\/11\/272-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur seniority with the company is finally being honored, \u201csaid Terry Sosnowski, a 13 year veteran guard. \u201cAnd best of all, we no longer are at will employees, we have a contract.
