Over the past two weeks, we\u2019ve had several MAJOR developments that impact members across our union and working families across Colorado! We wanted to share this exciting news with you, so read below to get the details!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ENDORSEMENTS FOR THE 2026 ELECTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, SEIU Colorado announced our first round of 2026 endorsements<\/a>, including Julie Gonzales for U.S. Senate, following a rigorous, member-led process driven by workers across SEIU Local 105 and our sister union, Colorado WINS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Together, our unions represent more than 35,000 Colorado workers including caregivers, janitors, airport workers, and state employees who keep our communities running every day. These endorsements were earned by candidates who have stood with workers, supported strong unions, and fought to make Colorado more affordable for working families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know strong unions are part of the solution to the affordability crisis. When workers have a voice on the job, wages rise, healthcare improves, and families can stay in the communities they serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re ready to organize, talk to voters, and elect leaders who will stand with working people. Stay tuned for opportunities to get out the vote for these worker champions! BUILDING JANITOR POWER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re building janitor power across Denver! Every week, members of our executive board from our Property Services division are visiting worksites and having conversations with fellow members around the issues that matter most!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These janitors keep Denver’s busiest spaces clean, safe, and enjoyable every day, and we’re keeping up the fight for working families in our community and beyond! If you\u2019re a janitor under our Master Contract, be on the lookout for visits from YOUR elected Executive Board members!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A WIN AT DPS, A WIN FOR KAISER MEMBERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December, it was announced that Denver Public Schools Leadership were considering REMOVING Kaiser Permanente as a healthcare provider for educators across the City and County of Denver.

More than half of DPS employees currently choose Kaiser Permanente for their healthcare. These are educators and essential school workers who support Denver\u2019s students and families every day. Removing Kaiser would force thousands of workers to change doctors, disrupt ongoing treatment, and lose access to care teams they trust.

In response SEIU Local 105 members joined folks from around the community to send HUNDREDS of emails to DPS leadership, demanding that they keep Kaiser as an option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, after our unified action, we\u2019re excited to announce that DPS has decided to KEEP Kaiser as an option for at least another year! This fight is far from over, as Kaiser should ALWAYS remain an option, but this victory serves as a powerful reminder of the impact we have when we stand together and speak out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANOTHER TRAINING OPPORTUNITY WITH CIRC<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This month, our union worked with other unions and the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition (CIRC) to host a virtual Know Your Rights (KYR) training specifically tailored to healthcare workers and their rights surrounding immigration authorities at work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This training was a resounding success, hundreds of healthcare workers from around our community signing up to attend!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we\u2019re excited to announce our next training with CIRC in March on SB-276, where you can learn how this new state law impacts immigrant communities. This webinar will cover new requirements for local agencies in Colorado, handling personal information, and interactions with ICE. Interpretation in Spanish and other languages will be available. La semana pasada, SEIU Colorado anunci\u00f3 nuestra primera ronda de apoyos para 2026,<\/a> incluyendo a Julie Gonzales para el Senado de los EE. UU., tras un riguroso proceso liderado por los miembros e impulsado por trabajadores del SEIU Local 105 y nuestro sindicato hermano, Colorado WINS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNA VICTORIA PARA DPS, UNA VICTORIA PARA LOS MIEMBROS DE KAISER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En diciembre, se anunci\u00f3 que el liderazgo de las Escuelas P\u00fablicas de Denver estaba considerando eliminar a Kaiser Permanente como proveedor de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica para los educadores de la ciudad y el condado de Denver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e1s de la mitad de los empleados de DPS actualmente eligen a Kaiser Permanente para su atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica. Se trata de educadores y trabajadores escolares esenciales que apoyan a los estudiantes y familias de Denver todos los d\u00edas. Ahora, tras nuestra acci\u00f3n unificada, nos complace anunciar que el DPS ha decidido MANTENER a Kaiser como una opci\u00f3n durante al menos un a\u00f1o m\u00e1s. Esta lucha est\u00e1 lejos de terminar, ya que Kaiser SIEMPRE deber\u00eda seguir siendo una opci\u00f3n, pero esta victoria sirve como un poderoso recordatorio del impacto que tenemos cuando nos mantenemos unidos y alzamos la voz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este mes, nuestro sindicato colabor\u00f3 \u200b\u200bcon otros sindicatos y la Coalici\u00f3n por los Derechos de los Inmigrantes de Colorado (CIRC) para organizar una capacitaci\u00f3n virtual “Conozca sus Derechos” (KYR), dise\u00f1ada espec\u00edficamente para los trabajadores de la salud y sus derechos ante las autoridades de inmigraci\u00f3n en el trabajo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta capacitaci\u00f3n fue un \u00e9xito, \u00a1y cientos de trabajadores de la salud de toda nuestra comunidad se inscribieron!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
