JOB POSTING: Labor Relations Specialist

Job location: Denver, Colorado

The Labor Relations Specialist supports Service Employees International Union Local 105 for both property services and healthcare employees by negotiating, analyzing, and enforcing collective bargaining agreements as pertaining to financial agreements and worksite issues. Primary job duties include:

  • Work with Director of Finance to conduct payroll information reviews of Union contractors through a combined process of on-site fieldwork and analysis of information
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings
  • Evaluate membership/dues lists received from Union contractors for contract compliance and accuracy
  • Resolve contract violations directly with employers or develop cases for arbitration
  • Maintain administrative records supporting timelines laid out in contracts
  • File grievances according to collective bargaining agreements
  • Assist with researching and preparing bargaining materials for property services organizers
  • Meet with Internal Directors and organizing leads to report on worksite issues, develop strategies for member campaigns, and address representation issues
  • Meet with employer representatives, Property Services Director, organizers, union attorneys and other staff to investigate workplace issues
  • Manage bargaining calendar and serve as point person for Internal Directors for building bargaining timelines and following established bargaining procedures

Education Requirements: MBA                               

Required Skills are one year of experience in the following:

  1. Payroll processing audits
  2. Financial data analysis for unions
  3. Experience with both healthcare and property services industry unions
  4. Analyzing and enforcing CBAs
