Money Won Back! A Recap of 2025

Every day, your union fights hard to represent you at work, enforce your contract, and ensure that you receive all that you’re entitled to.

From malicious wage theft to simple clerical errors, there are many ways in which workers aren’t paid the money they’re owed. Fortunately, you have stewards, organizers, and most importantly, a strong union contract that protects you if this happens to you.

We recovered $822,417 in 2025!

This year, we recovered a HISTORIC amount of lost money for members across our union. Below, we wanted to highlight a breakdown from each sector of SEIU Local 105, and share the experiences of members who have had money recovered. Use the buttons below to quickly jump to your section of our review!

If you believe you’re owed wages or other compensation from your employer, please reach out to your steward or organizer immediately!

I’ve worked heavily with Passion this year, and she has been a massive advocate for us against a tough management team. She saved us from a lot of hardship, securing a $15,000 payout and ensuring our job security. She is constantly holding management accountable and stopping them from skirting the contract or harassing the team.

I was represented by a union steward and a contract specialist for a grievance with my FMLA and FAMLI leave. Because of paperwork errors beyond my control, I was told I owed nearly $800. As a single mother this is no pocket change that I could just hand over. I was so worried about what I could do in this situation, so I reached out to a few of my favorite stewards, and they told me my options and helped me move forward. If I hadn’t had their guidance through all this, I probably wouldn’t have gotten through such a hard time. I am indebted to those 2 wonderful people; they walked me through everything and helped me stay level when I felt like I was falling apart. Having union resources has helped me more times than I can count, but this experience reminded me just how essential it is to have advocates who truly understand the system.

We want to thank our union, SEIU Local 105, for helping us recover lost wages. Thanks to the support of the union, they fought the company to make sure I was paid what I had already earned through my work. We also thank them for helping my husband, Deli Guerrero, recover the wages for vacation time that they did not want to pay him. Thank you very much to the union for all of its support and for defending our rights.

Our Airport division includes service workers in various roles at Denver International Airport, including janitors, wheelchair agents, lounge workers, window cleaners, parking attendants, and more.

My employer refused to pay me the holiday pay I was owed. With my union’s help, we won that money back this year. I’m proud of my union for fighting for me. Without our union, we wouldn’t have a voice. When we stand united, we win.

Home Care

In our effort to organize direct care providers across Colorado we also recover stolen wages. These are the folks who take care of our community’s most vulnerable folks with dignified, in-home care. They take care of our sick, our elderly, and our disabled friends and family.

Wage theft runs rampant in the care industry, and we assist workers recover stolen wages as we continue to fight for a union for direct care workers.

Home healthcare is about compassion and dedication, but it should never come at the cost of wage theft. For too long, I wasn't being paid correctly for the shifts I worked. I was able to win back thousands of dollars that were owed to me and I can finally breathe easier. By taking on this case, I wasn't just standing up for myself, but I was standing up for all home care workers who face wage theft. Winning my case proves that home care workers will not be silenced and it shows that we are not alone!

Grand Total

All together, this means we recovered $822,417 for our members in 2025!

That’s a historic number, and it proves the power we have when we stand together in a union and raise our voices when something isn’t right at work. We’re looking forward to 2026, and all the ways in which we’ll continue fighting for each other and making sure our members are paid what they’re owed!
