Janitors del Contrato Maestro SEIU Local 105
Estamos a solo UNA SEMANA de que se venza nuestro contrato y su equipo de negociación ha estado trabajando incansablemente para luchar por la justicia y el respeto que merecemos todos los janitors de todo Colorado.
Esta semana pasamos dos días negociando hasta bien tarde en la noche con las empresas de limpieza. En estas negociaciones, nos mantuvimos firmes en nuestros temas más importantes: salarios equitativos y dignos para los 2,400 janitors esenciales que mantienen nuestros centros urbanos y comunidades limpios y seguros. El miércoles les presentamos a las empresas nuestra propuesta de aumentos.
¿Cuál fue la respuesta de los dueños de las empresas de limpieza?
Rechazaron nuestras propuestas de salarios dignos y sólo propusieron un aumento de 48 centavos por hora para la mayora de los janitors.
Así es, ¡48 centavos! ¡Ese aumento es tan BAJO que ni siquiera igualará el salario mínimo en Denver el próximo año!
Esto es nada menos que una falta de respeto y una bofetada a todos los janitors! Nuestro trabajo ha hecho que estas empresas de limpieza ganen millones de dólares.
Los jefes han dejado en claro que no nos respetan y creen que nuestros trabajos no son más que empleos con sueldo mínimo.
Hemos sacrificado mucho trabajando durante una pandemia y los altos costos de vida en nuestras comunidades, todo mientras enfrentamos mayores cargas de trabajo y menos personal para hacer el trabajo.
Ahora les preguntamos…¿Nuestras familias sólo valen .48 centavos? ¿Vamos a seguir permitiendo que los jefes nos falte el respeto de esta manera? ¿Vamos a dejar que nos dividan?
¡AHORA ES EL MOMENTO DE ESTAR UNIDOS Y MOSTRAR A LOS EJECUTIVOS DE LIMPIEZA NUESTRO PODER SINDICAL Y QUE ESTAMOS LISTOS PARA LUCHAR POR LOS SALARIOS DIGNOS QUE MERECEMOS!
Es por eso que su equipo de negociaciones está pidiendo una votación de autorización de huelga para demostrar a los jefes que estamos listos para ir a huelga si no llegamos a un acuerdo sólido que garantice sueldos dignos para todos los janitors en Colorado.
¡Esta lucha solo la ganaremos JUNTOS y tenemos que estar UNIDOS!
Desde el domingo 21 de julio hasta el martes 23 de julio, los lugares de votación estarán disponibles en los edificios para que nuestros miembros voten SÍ para ir a huelga si es necesario. Es hora de votar SÍ para mostrarles a estas ricas empresas de limpieza que valemos más que el salario mínimo.
Los primeros lugares de votación este domingo 21 de julio serán:
- Republic Plaza, 370 17th Street, de 4:30PM a 5:30PM
- Oficina del SEIU Local 105, 2525 Alameda Avenue Denver 80219 de 2:00PM a 4:00PM
Tendremos boletas, alimentos e información disponibles para todos los miembros.

MASTER CONTRACT BARGAINING UPDATE
Bargaining Update 7.18.24
SEIU Local 105 Janitors,
We are just ONE WEEK away from our contract expiring, and your bargaining team has been working tirelessly to fight for the justice and respect janitors across the Denver Metro deserve.
This week, we spent two days negotiating late into the evening with the wealthy cleaning company owners. In these negotiations, we stood strong on our most important issue: equitable and livable wages for the 2,400 essential janitors who keep our downtowns and communities clean and safe. On Wednesday, we presented management with our wage proposals.
What was management’s response? They rejected our proposals for livable wages and only proposed a 48 cent/hr increase for the majority of janitors.
That’s right, 48 cents! That wage is so LOW that it won’t even match the minimum wage in Denver next year!
This is nothing short of disrespectful and a slap in the face to the janitors they depend on to do this essential work. Work that has made these cleaning companies millions of dollars in profits.
The cleaning company executives have made it clear they do not respect us and believe our jobs are nothing more than minimum wage jobs.
We’ve sacrificed so much working through a pandemic and skyrocketing living costs in our communities, all while facing increased workloads and less staff to do the work.
Are our families only worth 0.48 cents? Are we going to continue to let management disrespect us like this? Are we going to let them divide us?
THE TIME IS NOW TO STAND UNITED AND SHOW THE CLEANING EXECUTIVES OUR UNION POWER AND THAT WE ARE READY TO FIGHT FOR THE LIVABLE WAGES WE DESERVE!
That’s why your bargaining team is calling for a strike authorization vote to show management we are ready to strike if we do not reach a strong agreement that secures livable wages for janitors across Colorado.
We will only win this fight TOGETHER and if we stand UNITED!
From Sunday, July 21st, through Tuesday, July 23rd, voting locations will be available at buildings for janitor members to vote YES to go on strike if necessary. It’s time to vote YES to show these wealthy cleaning companies that we are worth more than the minimum wage.
Today, Monday July 22, and Tuesday July 23 we have more opportunities to vote:
- Monday July 22, we will be at the Denver Tech Center (DTC) area, Address: 4582 S Ulster St, Denver, CO 80237 from 3:30PM to 6PM.
- Tuesday the 23rd we will be downtown in two places. Johns Manville Plaza, Address: 717 17th St, Denver, CO 80202 from 10AM to 6PM.
- Also on Tuesday we will be at the Denver Energy Center, Address: 1625 Broadway, Denver, CO 80202 from 4PM to 6PM
We will have ballots, food, and information available for all members.
