For four decades, Denver janitors have been at the forefront of a movement that has spread across the country; a movement demanding dignity, respect, and justice for the unsung heroes who keep our cities clean and safe.
Together, we have secured better wages, stronger benefits, and workplace protections for janitors across Colorado, paving the way for others to do the same. We have stood united, demanded improvements, fought hard, and triumphed.

After our hard fought victories, we’re celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Justice for Janitors movement, a historic force that began right here in the City of Denver.
In June, Mayor Mike Johnston officially declared June 15th as Justice for Janitors Day in Denver, kicking off our J4J Summer.
Now, we’re holding a special celebration for all of our hardworking and dedicated union Janitors!
This celebration will take place on Saturday, August 15th from 3PM to 7PM at the Denver Athletic Club, a luxurious event space offering food, drinks, games, a sundeck, and a grand ballroom!
This AGE 21 AND OVER event is FREE ADMISSION to members and a plus-one. Parking at the event will be $10 at the Denver Athletic Club Parking Garage on Welton Street, and you must validate your parking at the check-in desk to receive this special pricing. Otherwise, you may park on the street, carpool, or use public transportation.
3PM: Food and Drinks Available on the Second Floor
4PM: Meet in the Grand Ballroom on the fourth floor for a special presentation
5PM: Rooftop bar with food, drinks, and dancing
7PM: Close for the evening
