MONTHLY STEWARD HIGHLIGHT

In what ways do you see the union difference affecting you or your co-workers?

“Seeing our work together as a union in the last year has proven the power we have when we are involved and active. I hope to see us continue this momentum and keep our members active and engaged! Together we not only win – we build!”

Rita Paybe, Employer Broker Service Specialist

JUNETEENTH

Local 105 will be honoring the past, celebrating the present, and embracing the future at Denver’s annual Juneteenth Festival! Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States and Denver’s Juneteenth Festival is one of the biggest in the entire country attracting more than 70,000 people.

Our Local will be participating in both days of the celebration so join us on one or both of the days!

Parade and March, Saturday, June 15th

Booth, Sunday, June 16th

JUSTICE FOR JANITORS

As our janitors gear up for our historic 2024 master contract campaign, with bargaining set to start on June 17th, we’ll be taking to the streets and marching together through Downtown Denver to demand Justice for Janitors!

The future of the industry is in OUR hands and this Justice for Janitors Day we’ll be demanding livable wages, safer working conditions, and dignity for every janitor in Colorado.

Join our 105 janitors in Solidarity! We will also be joined by community groups and elected officials!

WHEN: Monday, June 17th at 10:30 AM

WHERE: Union Station, on Wynkoop St. between 17th and 18th

PRIDE

We’re proud to celebrate our diverse members and their families from across the LGBTQ+ community, and we’re so excited to take part in Denver’s Pride parade on Sunday, June 23rd!

Join your fellow union members to march in Denver’s Pride parade and remind the world that all workers deserve justice. In these times of ever increasing discrimination on the basis of sexuality and gender it’s important that everyone knows organized labor stands with all workers.

STEWARD TO STEWARD TRAININGS

We are continuing to hold a series of Internal to External Steward trainings, as well! These are incredibly important to grow our union, so please use the button below to sign up if you’re interested!

EXTERNAL CAMPAIGN SUPPORT

We’re always trying to grow our union to become even stronger! At the moment, we have several organizing campaigns that could use some support from those who know our movement best: union members and stewards! If you’re interested in helping out on any of these campaigns and growing our union power, please use the button below to sign up!
