The Union Leadership Organizing Committee (ULOC) has been meeting for the past year, working with facilitators and our Trustees to re-organize and re-energize our Local. Among their tasks were re-writing our mission statement; reviewing our leadership structure including our steward structure; and re-writing our organizational by-laws.
We are happy to annouce that on November 13-14, 2013, the ULOC finalized their work and we are now ready to present the proposed by-laws for adoption by election to the Local 105 membership.
We believe we have made significant strides in building a stronger union by:
- Expanding the rank and file voice of our membership on our Executive Board by adding a member Vice-President for Healthcare and a member Vice-President for Property Services and expanding the number of Executive Board positions;
- Strengthening the democracy, transparency, and accountability within our union;
- Establishing a clear vision of unity and purpose of our union.
The Bylaws Vote will be on Saturday, December 7th from 11-2pm at our Union Hall, 2525 West Alameda Avenue, Denver, CO 80219
