We met with management on Friday May 29th where they completed their first counter proposal to us. They provided their proposal on healthcare insurance. They proposed a 10% increase in the premium for each of the next three years (i.e. 10% per year). We will need to push hard for a wage increase that adequately offsets this.

We did notice a slight change in tone from them so the email action that over half of all union members participated in had an effect. Their tone seemed a bit more receptive to feedback and our point of view. Your bargaining team will now try to craft a counter proposal that makes fair concessions to some of their demands in exchange for the company compromising to accept some of our proposals for fair wages, good benefits, adequate time off, and more.

There is something that you can do to help your coworkers and yourselves to achieve the best deal possible.

Our next bargaining session with management will be Friday, July 24th and on Wednesday, July 22nd at 2:30pm there will be an all staff meeting.

We highly encourage everyone to attend this all-staff meeting and show management that you are committed to the bargaining process and want a fair contract!
