84% Vote YES! Airport Security Guards WIN First Union Contract

The votes are in! HSS Security Guards voted decisively November 1st with over 80% voting in favor of ratifying the union contract.“We were very united throughout this process.” said Bargaining Committee member Juanita McGill. “The bargaining team was unanimous in our recommendation to adopt the contract.”

The new contract takes effect on Saturday, November 2, 2013.

The contract, which expires in 2017, includes many victories including a substantial decrease in health insurance costs across the board; wage increases twice annually; additional paid time off and; a seniority based wage scale.  Wage increases will be re-opened for discussion in the fall of 2014.
